Cesaria is going to perform for the seaside Carnival. She skips past the beach barefoot, dressed in her favorite peacock leotard.
But when her dance director tells her she must put on her shoes to go on stage, Cesaria signs, “Peacocks don’t wear shoes!”

Inspired by Family
Cesaria Feels the Beat was inspired by my cousin Kara. She is Deaf and has always embraced the world through joy, movement, and deep curiosity. I grew up watching her dance at family gatherings, feel music through vibration, and express herself with confidence and pride. Her spirit helped shape Cesaria’s journey.
